What this site is about
In
today’s men’s watch climate, having a slender wrist means you have less to
choose from. My wrist is 16mm, which means that wearing any wristwatch above
40mm in diameter looks average at best, and at worst just ill-informed. The
tiny band of skin where your hand meets your arm is high real estate. As a
stylish man, you have to make it count.
At
the low end, a 36mm diameter is where I draw the line. 34mm watches can evoke
1940s elegance, but I’ve yet to see anyone who isn’t actually from the 1940s look
good in one.
This weblog describes good watches for men with a wrist size under 18mm, which incidentally, still look good on a larger wrist. I'd like to drive the industry to treat the 36-40mm diameter as the space inside which the style game is played.
We used to make watches like this before the 90s. Join me, and make what’s old new again.
